I only run 5ks. Can I sign up for Dream Marathon?

Yes. Our 22-week program is beginner friendly and has been tried and tested by our almost 4,000 TBR Dream alumni.

The program starts with 2 weeks of walking to gradually introduce running to the newbies.  The rest of the program is based on a run-walk program to be used during training. We encourage running at a conservative pace. Having said that, we still would recommend that you don’t rush into your first marathon. You can run shorter distances this year and join the next Dream Marathons.

Do we run together during the entire 22-weeks leading up to the marathon?

No. We meet once a month from September to February for our Bull Sessions where we will run together. For other training days, we expect you to do your homework on your own. While this is a beginners’ marathon, we will not baby you. We do commit to guide you and provide all the support you need to make this one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

How do we know we are training properly?

We have gathered the best experts in the field to give you much needed information on training for the marathon during our Bull Circles, free running talks covering topics that will prepare you for the marathon. TBR Dream Team will also be there for you.

I’m from abroad, can I join?

I signed up for a 42k in the past but I DNF’d (did not finish), can I still join?

Yes. If you did not cross the finish line and you are not in the official results of a 42km event, then you are still eligible to join.

I finished two marathons already, but I want to join your race. Can I still join?

No. The race is exclusively for first- and second-time marathoners. Our slots are limited and you’ve had your experience running your first marathon, please allow someone else to experience the same joy. We encourage you, however, to volunteer as a Dream Chaser, pacer, or cheerer. This is your chance to pay it forward to other runners.

I finished an ultra marathon, but never a full marathon. Can I still join?

No.  Sorry, the Dream Marathon is designed for runners who will be running 42km for the first time.  If you’ve run longer, then this race is not for you.  We encourage you, however, to volunteer as a Dream Chaser, pacer, or cheerer.  This is your chance to pay it forward to other runners.

What happens to unclaimed slots?

If there are unclaimed slots, these may be opened up to wait listed runners.  TBR will notify the Waitlisted Runners directly via email if any slots free up.  Registration for waitlisted runners will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

I’m a registered runner, but I won’t be able to join the marathon.  Can someone else use my race kit?

No, the sale or transfer of slot is strictly prohibited.   The organizer will not allow for the use of the race bib by a runner other than the registered Runner. A runner caught using a race bib on event day under a different name will be disqualified and will not be included in the official results.

I’m a registered Pacer, but I won’t be able to pace in the marathon.  Can someone else use my Pacer’s kit?

No,  the sale or transfer of a Pacer’s kit is strictly prohibited. A pacer caught running without a bib or using a bib under a different name will be asked to leave the course and the runner accompanied by the bandit pacer shall be disqualified.

I’m a minor, can I join the marathon?

We discourage minors (below 18 years old) from participating in a 42km event since the minor’s body is still growing and developing. However, we have encountered minors who have a strong personal desire to reach their dream of running a marathon.  TBR Dream accepts minors with a minimum age of 16.  Minors between 16 to 18 years old may reserve a slot, but applicant will be required to submit the following:

  1. a formal letter of request from the applicant explaining why he/she would like to run a marathon at an early age
  2. a formal letter of request from the applicant’s parents/guardian allowing the applicant to participate in the event including the history of the applicant in running (e.g, age, number and distance of races participated in, sports background, and reason for joining) before acceptance into the event.  For inquiries, email macel@dreammarathon.com directly.

I have a specific question for my particular case, who do I contact?

You may email us at macel@dreammarathon.com or SMS 0942-60-99.
